A spicy specialty from the Sangli and Kolhapur regions, Bhadang uses puffed rice (murmura) tossed in a potent garlic and red chili tempering. The puffed rice remains light and airy, while the coating of spices, fried peanuts, and curry leaves provides a sharp, savory punch. It is famously addictive and is often transformed into a quick “Bhel” by adding chopped onions and tomatoes.
